When designer Isabella Patrick visits a showroom, she doesn’t rush. She studies the weight of a material, the softness of a curve, the way a piece might actually live in a home. During her visit to our showroom for WNWN, we asked her to point out a few of her favorites. She paused for the pieces that felt intentional, beautifully made, and quietly expressive. What follows is a glimpse inside her thought process as she discovered the designs that truly stood out.
1. Denarii Round Cocktail Table
The first thing that caught her attention was a round cocktail table by J Liston Design, a sculptural piece in metal that immediately challenged her expectations.
“This round coffee table is absolutely gorgeous,” she said, running her hand across the surface. What she loved most was its duality. It’s a metal table that somehow feels light on its feet.
“It doesn’t feel too heavy. It’s so elegant, it really makes a statement.”
For Isabella, this is the kind of anchor that works effortlessly in a space, grounding the room without weighing it down.
2. Skyline Console
A few steps later, she stopped in front of the Skyline Console from Ryan Jackson Home. The console’s floating form, soft edges, and luminous titanium white finish pulled her right in.
“He’s thought about the design from every different angle,” she noted, inspecting the details. There’s a warmth and functionality in the way the piece is shaped, almost as if it anticipates how someone moves around a room.
She opened the drawer and smiled.
“This isn’t just a drawer. There’s an absolutely gorgeous embossed leather detail in here.”
It’s those kinds of subtle luxuries that make a piece feel personal to her, the kind of console that slips easily into an entryway or living space and immediately elevates it.
3. Draper Swivel Chair
Nearby, the Draper Swivel Chair from Quintus caught her attention instantly. Upholstered in a mohair velvet that reads as olive with a whisper of brown, it struck her as both plush and grounded.
“The mohair velvet on this is absolutely stunning,” she said. What she appreciates is how the color feels flexible, making it easy to pull into a room without dictating the palette.
“It’s such a successful fabric for this piece,” she added, settling into the seat to test the swivel. This is the type of chair she imagines in a conversation area, somewhere movement and comfort matter as much as presence.
4. Masina Wall Light
And then there were the sconces, specifically the Masina Wall Lights by Bert Frank. Their sculptural quality pulled her right in.
“I just totally gravitated over to these,” she admitted. A lot of homeowners still think of sconces as old-fashioned, but Isabella sees them as an opportunity for softness and shadow.
“A lot of people are still afraid of sconces. They think maybe it’s old-fashioned.”
“These are especially beautiful. It gives off ambient light, but it’s also its own little art piece.”
To her, good lighting adds personality, not just brightness.
The Thread That Ties It All Together
What connects Isabella’s picks is her instinct for pieces that behave like quiet companions in a room. They don’t shout, but they do shape the atmosphere. And for a designer who values intention and emotion in every project, that’s exactly the kind of beauty she’s looking for.
